yes, Trixtah, that's basically what I meant by the equal bit. Exchanges between two people are often not equal, especially if it is in the case where someone needs a big emotional 'dump'. What I meant though, was that it shouldn't ever go into deficit. I think I 'let' myself get very close to a nil balance at times, thinking that I had earned many 'points' with friends. Only to realise or discover more recently that that was my problem, I shouldn't have 'let' any of that happen because when I came to call or use up some of my 'points' it was an unrealistic expectation of the other person and that perhaps I should have not been so open with them in the first place and had better boundaries myself in order to not get close to nil. I am much better with all this now.
